Written Content for the Site
I'm looking for a bit of help writing content for the site.
It has obviously taken me quite a bit of time to get UpThePosh! to the stage where it currently is — entering data for players and matches is quite time-consuming, and then there's the code that needs to be written for the site...
Having a database is useful for working out statistics, but when looking at information about a match is a bit ‘stale’ without knowing the context of what happened. Since I'm pretty busy adding in data, I'm looking for help writing some match descriptions. I'm sorry but I haven't been able to write a style guide for this yet, but the vein of writing I'm looking for is something similar to the way Matt Hill described matches in his book Peterborough United: The Modern Era — A Complete Record. That is being informative and descriptive, without being subjective or offensive; it would not only describe the match itself, but also anything important that happened before or after the match. The description should be 100-150 words long.
If you're interested in helping, send me an e-mail letting me know which match you'd like to write a description for before writing (just to check that someone else hasn't written it first). If you have any questions, you can e-mail me or post on this thread. Ideally I'd like to start with this season and work backwards in time, but there's no harm in writing a description for a previous season's match. I'll read anything submitted and please don’t be offended if I make any changes or comments.
Thanks in advance for any help.
