Mansfield Town made a fuss of their new signing Asa Charlton from Redditch Utd before kick-off, but it was Posh's non-league capture who continued to make the headlines. Aaron McLean scored the first goal, while his striking partner Danny Crow grabbed the second. Substitute Lloyd Opara, however, couldn't extend the lead with a couple of decent chances in the dying moments. With Charlton failing to make an impact, The Posh produced a solid team effort that saw the team win four games in a row for the first time since the victory at Wembley in 2000.
