Martin Allen declares that his promotion-chasing MK Dons are the underdogs against Posh, and is proved right as he watches his team destroyed 4-0. Peter Gain opens the scoring, then Gavin Strachan doubles the lead with a left-footed volley. Former Swansea City striker Leon Knight, who turned down Posh, is brought on at half-time, but is unable to make an impact. Posh are reduced to 10 men for the last 20 minutes after Shane Blackett lashes out at Aaron Wilbraham, but are still able to find the net twice. Craig Mackail-Smith takes advantage of the tiring defence, then Ben Futcher completes the scoring.
