Mark Wright claims that he could have got Peterborough promoted, and promptly ends Posh’s slim chances of claiming a playoff position are over as they fail to beat Chester City. Simon Yeo gives the home side a quick lead, capitalising on Adam Newton’s mistake. Richard Butcher comes on for the second half and Posh finally begin to threaten, but it takes an own goal by David Artell to level the score. A bad tempered match sees 9 yellow cards and Posh manager Darren Ferguson being sent to the stands in the dying moments. Wright is sacked by Chester 2 days later following poor form.
