Basic Information

Date 30th March 2010.
Stadium Harlington Sports Ground, Harlington, Borough of Hillingdon, London, England
Competition Under-18 Youth Alliance Cup (southern section, final).

The pitch at Aldershot Town’s Recreation Ground is waterlogged so the game is switched to Queens Park Rangers’s training ground at the last moment. The hosts dominate the first half: Sam Cole makes fines saves to deny Christian Nanetti, Michael Doughty and Frankie Sutherland. At the other end Jamie Butler manages to stop Nathan Koranteng’s long-range effort. Nanetti then misses from close range, but makes amends by gifting Elliott Cox the opportunity to break the deadlock. Taylor Parmenter doubles the lead early in the second half during a goal-mouth scramble. Danny Fernandez has further chances, but it takes substitute Sam Bewick to finish the tie, scoring from 30 yards. Cole manages to prevent another goal in injury time, tipping the ball round the post from Javonne Molloy, who was played clean through by Doughty.
